Where is the coolest place you’ve traveled? Any travel plans coming up?
I think every place I have traveled has been remarkable, each in its own distinct way. I would have to say the place I cherish the most is at the very southern end of South America, and that is Patagonia. My family and I have traveled to Argentina quite a few times for Christmas, and last year we included an expedition to Patagonia, Chile. Most of Chile is pristine, virgin and untouched with vast mountains, the sea, volcanoes, deserts and verdant rain forests. It is not a destination for those seeking a classic travel experience. It is a place for the adventurous explorers who want to appreciate Mother Nature at its finest, and push themselves into the outer limits of the unknown. There is a saying in Patagonia, “There is a place on Earth where if one was any closer to one’s Creator, you could shake his hand.” Patagonia is a dream, a wonder of the world and a place that has left an eternal imprint on me.
My family and I have and always will be world travelers. Ever since I was very young, we have gone on explorations seeking adventure at every junction. I am blessed to have voyaged all over the globe, bringing with it my biggest passion and joy in life, a craving for new experiences. Each journey has been vastly different, some challenging both physically and mentally, some rewarding, but they have all lead to fleeting yet inescapable moments of joy. Immersing myself in completely different worlds has given me knowledge and insights; I would have otherwise never gained. It helped me get in touch with myself, expand my perspective, appreciate every part of my life and gain a mystifying knowledge for this place we call Earth.
What is your favorite outdoor activity?
The activity that consumed most of my time for an extensive period of my life was lacrosse. I owe a lot of who I am to the sport, but my true passion has and always will be skiing. I have skied since I was three, joined a couple of competitive ski teams here and there, but my adoration for the sport comes from the pure thrill of it, and being able to share that joy with your family and best friends. Skiing has had a significant impact on who I am as person, by guiding me to discover my greatest passions, desires, goals and aspirations. It has taught me to never limit myself and to never say “I can’t.” Skiers share the same philosophy of life, to keep pushing your boundaries.
I have an everlasting love for the great outdoors, and with that has come a desire to pursue any and every outdoor activity. I am blessed to have grown up in Colorado where my backyard has been the majestic mountains and vast landscape, acting as my own personal playground. I grew up having a very active outdoor lifestyle, trying every sport under the moon. To this day I am constantly spending my free time outside. Whether it is climbing, hiking, mountain biking or kayaking, I love it all.
What is your favorite thing about living in Colorado?
I am a Colorado native and I am blessed to have grown up in such a magical place. I spent four years living far away from my home state, and after graduation I did some soul searching and decided to venture back to my roots. I could go on and on about the reasons I love Colorado. The beautiful mountains, the outdoor activities, the dazzling natural wonders, the 300 days of sunshine, the innovative music and independent art scene, but it is so much more than that. For me, it all starts with my incredible family. It is not only home but a place for me to pursue and enjoy all of my passions, especially music. Music has and always will be my one true love. Colorado is the place for music gurus to flourish. There is no specific or definitive sound, allowing musicians from all over to disperse their own unique tune. The staggering venues, spectacular festivals and shows, it has it all. Colorado truly has something for everyone.
