At Linhart PR, giving back to the community where we work, live and play is a big part of our business. So, last year we created a program called Linhart-to-Heart, a quarterly giving campaign for an employee-selected charity. Through Linhart-to-Heart in 2010, we’ve collected arts and craft supplies for the Anchor Center and school supplies for the Tennyson Center.
As our very own Tim Streeb is a long-time volunteer and current vice chair of the board of Warren Village, a Denver-based nonprofit organization that helps low-income, single parent families achieve sustainable personal and economic self-sufficiency, we voted to collect gifts for Warren Village’s annual Holiday Shop as our fourth quarter Linhart-to-Heart beneficiary. Through the Warren Village Holiday Shop, Warren Village parents are able to shop free of charge for gifts for their children, and children are able to shop for their parents. For more than 23 years, Warren Village has been able to make the joy of the holidays a reality for its families. The Holiday Shop took place this past Saturday, and we’re honored to know we helped the families at Warren Village celebrate the holidays this year.
While many adopt-a-family programs similar to the Holiday Shop have participation deadlines that have already passed, there are still a few opportunities to jump in and help out this holiday season. For instance, Denver Department of Human Services is collecting donations through Dec. 17, and Family Homestead is accepting donors for its annual Adopt-a-Family program through this Wednesday.
Know of other programs that are still accepting donations? Please share them as comments to this post.
Happy Holidays!
