PRSA Colorado Event: Why Bloggers and PR People Often Clash

Posted in Blog, Our Business by Paula Berg on 01-10-12 0 Comments Add Comment

Last fall, we watched as popular mommy blogger The Bloggess and representatives from a New York-based PR firm went toe-to-toe in the very public eye of social media.  Among the many lessons to be learned from the situation:  There’s an opportunity for our industry to better understand and master the art of blogger relations.

Join us as PRSA Colorado kicks off its 2012 luncheon series with a seasoned panel of bloggers and PR professionals who will share personal experiences, anecdotes and best practices for blogger relations, as well as provide the latest insights into the evolving state of the blogosphere.

I will be moderating the panel, which will feature:

Some of the topics we’ll cover:

  • Which brands are doing it right and which brands are doing it wrong
  • The worst pitches we’ve seen
  • Who you should be pitching and what you should be including
  • Debates and tensions within the blogging community
  • When it’s appropriate to pay bloggers and how much
  • What drives bloggers absolutely crazy about PR people
  • What most bloggers don’t understand about public relations
